Join us for another inspiring Storytelling Breakfast morning, where we dive into the world of outdoor sports and the stories that brands and society shape around them.Â
The outdoors hold so much potential - for freedom, connection, and belonging. Yet many of the stories told about them still come from a limited perspective. This session is an invitation to widen the lens, bring more voices into the conversation, and celebrate the diversity of people and experiences that truly shape outdoor culture.
Â
We’ll start the morning with Margo de Lange, who will give a short presentation introducing her work with Opening Up The Outdoors (OUTO). She’ll give insight into how the initiative opens doors to nature, removes barriers, and creates new opportunities for communities that have long been underrepresented outdoors.
Â
Next up, we welcome Jessyca Isidoro for a presentation. Linked to the OUTO program, she works as a dedicated bridge builder with Colour Your Trail to advance equity and representation in outdoor spaces in the DACH region. She will share how her work fosters a deeper sense of belonging in nature by addressing the often invisible challenges and structural barriers that underrepresented communities face when accessing the outdoors.
Â
As our third and final speaker, we are delighted to welcome Caroline de Groot to the stage. She will introduce us to the world of the Alpinehearts Festival - a climbing festival that brings together women and queer climbers, creating spaces of connection, visibility, and joy in the mountains. Her work focuses on building supportive outdoor communities rooted in shared experiences, access, and fun.
Building on the inspiring contributions, we’ll explore the topic in greater depth and then gather for an engaging panel discussion - a space for open exchange, new perspectives, and thoughtful conversation about representation, inclusion, and the future of outdoor culture.
Margo de Lange is Secretary General of the It’s Great Out There Coalition, where she leads initiatives to make the outdoors more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming.
Â
She has been instrumental in advancing Opening Up the Outdoors, a cross-sector initiative focused on removing barriers and broadening participation in outdoor activities.
Jessyca Isidoro is an international bridge-builder advancing equity and representation in the outdoor industry through Colour Your Trail.
Colour Your Trail fosters belonging in nature by addressing the hidden challenges and structural barriers underrepresented individuals face in accessing outdoor spaces.
With a focus on the DACH region, she amplifies the voices of PoC (People of Color) -led outdoor organizations and their communities.
Â
Caroline de Groot is the Director of Alpinehearts, a community-driven initiative creating inclusive spaces within alpine and climbing culture.
Through events like the Alpinehearts climbing festival, she brings together women and queer climbers to foster a safe space for connection, visibility, and a sense of belonging in the mountains.Â
